What is Jet Lag and How Do You Cure It? Jet lag is a temporary disorder that can result in fatigue (fatigue), insomnia, and other symptoms caused by long-haul flights, especially to destinations with different time zones with home areas. Some experts also categorize them into rhythm abnormalities and sleep patterns (circadian rhythm sleep disorder) due to an interruption of the body’s internal clock due to the share of the hormone melatonin. Where the hormone melatonin in the body has a duty to regulate the rhythm of our sleeping circadian.
Melatonin is a hormone in the body produced by the hypothalamus in order to regulate sleep and awake a person’s cycle (circadian rhythm). This circadian rhythm is arranged through optical nerve stimulation in the eye that gives dark perception for night and light for day. If there is a dark perception, then the hypothalamus releases melatonin so that a person feels sleepy and wants to sleep. When a traveling person’s eyes send light or dark signals a few hours before or after than usual, the hypothalamus will mentriger the activity awake or fall asleep but the organs and systems on other parts of the body are not ready, so there is jet lag.
