Treatment For Lyme Disease in Humans
The main treatment for Lyme disease is with antibiotics. Duration of antibiotic use will generally take about two weeks to a month. The difference in duration in each patient depends on the severity of the infection experienced by the patient. Antibiotics should be used in accordance with the duration recommended by doctors to keep bacteria in your body completely destroyed.
After treatment is complete, symptoms such as stiffness and fatigue may still be experienced by the patient. Some experts suspect that this is triggered by an active immune system response to fight against Lyme disease-causing bacteria.
